Nigerian singer Kayode kicks off his 2026 run of Yoruba-rooted singles with a new single, “Bere Mole,” that borrows Adewale Ayuba’s Fuji hit “Ijo Fuji.”

The release follows “Ise Oluwa” and continues Kayode’s current trajectory of returning to familiar indigenous recordings through his own contemporary style. It maintains the link to Yoruba music but provides the source material with a fresh context for younger audiences.

Kayode’s verses are set in a contemporary Hip-Hop/Rap context, while the Adewale Ayuba sample lends the tune an instantly recognizable Fuji reference. Much of the song’s identity lies in the contrast between the two eras of music, yet it does so without sacrificing the essence of the original material.

This direction has been highlighted in Kayode’s repertoire with earlier albums “Aimoye” and “Ise Oluwa.” Staying on that path gives him a unique lane while exposing classic Yoruba elements to another audience.

The tune is available on all major digital streaming platforms and leave your opinions below about Kayode’s latest release.
