Justin Long teams up with Derry Deezzo on “Don’t Try Me,” and there’s a clear warning lurking beneath a title that leaves no room for interpretation.

Don’t Try Me, direct as it gets, Nez Long saying straight up that pushing too far won’t end good for whoever is testing him. No need for a metaphor, the title holds the complete menace. The fact that Derry Deezzo is joining in just further solidifies that same warning.

Dry percussion beats loud and sharp, with a dark, looping tune made for that confrontational, no-nonsense mood. No cosmetic stuff being added merely for flash here. It feels like it was written to meet that warning, tense and unbending from the get-go.

Nez Long’s raps are full of true edge, his delivery short and straightforward, wasting no time in building up slowly. He doesn’t ease into the confrontation but comes at it fully locked into that guarded position. That intensity brings the energy of the whole tune without letting up.

Derry Deezzo arrives with his own razor-sharp energy, in no way diminishing Nez Long’s warning. His verse adds more pressure without relaxing what’s already been established. Same unrelenting warning running via two voices.

“Don’t Try Me” doesn’t relent anywhere in its own intensity, and that refusal to back down is, honestly, the whole idea. Nez Long & Derry Deezzo perfectly embody that guarded, combative energy throughout.

If the same don’t-test-me spirit is what you’re feeling today, then play “Don’t Try Me.”
