The OG Forever rollout continues. Nigerian Afropop legend Mr. P shows a more contemplative aspect of the upcoming project with the new song, “Chukwu Mee.”
After “I Love You Because,” the song shifts to gratitude, with Mr. P thanking God for His part during difficult situations and the progress that has come out of them.
In its presentation, it is more subdued than the dance-driven recordings generally associated with his repertoire, leaning toward a measured Afropop and highlife-influenced setting that gives the vocal performance and message ample opportunity to lead.
That switch adds some welcome variation to the OG Forever rollout, displaying another side of Mr P outside of romance and uplifting material. His long-established audience goes a long way in giving the record a strong platform as anticipation continues to develop around the project.
The song is accessible on all major digital streaming platforms. Please listen and share your thoughts in the comments below.
