Nigerian street-pop stalwart Danny S returns to solo territory with “IGBERAGA”, released in September 2026, less than three months after releasing Merci.
The single arrives after the 12-track Merci album and keeps Danny S tied to the Yoruba expressiveness that has long characterized his music. Its title is based on the Yoruba term, often used to mean pride or arrogance, anchoring the record in a familiar street-language base.
Danny S has the air of a street-hop artist, a commanding, conversational flow that he deploys to slide between rhythmic phrasing and repeated vocal lines without requiring a featured artist to break up the album.
Years of tracks written in plain vernacular and Lagos street culture have found Danny S a comfortable niche in Nigerian street-pop. Another straight-to-solo release lets him continue serving that audience, while expanding the activity around his 2026 repertoire.
