American hyperpop musician brakence is back with new single “ready or noT.” This is his first new song since his debut album hypochondriac in 2022. The single is accompanied by a beautiful video, directed by fellow artist Quadeca.
brakence made his career on genre-bending, glitchy music, thus it feels apt to bring this comeback. The visual side is up to the goal with the video apparently including puppeteers and special sets. Fans of his earlier work will find the same restless drive.
The production is leaning loud and chaotic. It plays like a record that’s based on tension.
All in all, “ready or noT” feels like a noisy, glitchy comeback for brakence. It is messy, it is brazen, it won’t sit still.
