NIGERIAN singer FOLA’s second studio album, 9, due in 2026, follows his critically acclaimed 2025 debut, Catharsis. Centered on his football-inspired persona,
The title of the album is The Number Nine Striker, which FOLA feels he has mastered in producing successful music. He taps Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darko, Bella Shmurda, and Zlatan across 14 tracks, uniting hitmakers and artists from all corners of contemporary African music.
FOLA said the tracks were crafted from his experiences and the work of some of his favorite instrumentalists and producers. His well-rounded take on melodic Afropop, rooted in R&B, gives vital context for this new collection of material.
With the breakout success of “Alone,” his ascension has been supported by increasing commercial recognition, successful collaborations, and growing demand for his live performances. 9 arrives at a major juncture in his career, including some previously released favorites and expectations that go beyond the success of its guest appearances.
The album is available on all major digital streaming platforms. Check out the complete project and let us know your favorite tracks in the comments below.
