The Ghanaian rapper Yaw Tog released his new track “AKATAPIANO” in October 2026, along with an accompanying music video, via TogLife Records.
It follows his July song “2FLY” and continues his venture into music beyond the drill style that first brought him international recognition. Its title also celebrates Asakaa and amapiano, two important African musical genres that have separate cultural origins.

The recording is classified as hip-hop/rap, and it demonstrates Yaw Tog’s ongoing connection with Ghanaian contemporary rap. The unusual title provides yet another compelling reference to the larger African music scene.
Since his debut with “Sore,” Yaw Tog has been building his library with independent releases and collaborations. The new single interestingly appeared at number 16 on a Ghanaian daily music chart, showing early audience interest after its release.
