Nigerian leading vocalist and highlife-fusion musician Kellygzee takes a giant leap into the music limelight with his evocative, culturally rooted solo album, “Nwaeze.”
This dynamic CD comes at a time when aficionados of modern Afropop and fans of Eastern music are looking for anthems filled with melody and tradition that celebrate identity, dignity, and noble character. Kellygzee is steadily gaining traction around the regional circuit, with his expressive vocal presence and unique storytelling. For “Nwaeze” (loosely translating to “Son of a King”), he crafts an appealing musical pocket that circles royalty, gaining some true respect and honoring family legacy.
Producer O.G delivers a warm, mid-tempo atmosphere, including bright guitar plucks, snappy percussion shakers, and a smooth, rolling bassline. The groove is catchy, and the rhythm swings without overwhelming the vocal arrangement.
Kellygzee owns the mic with veteran composure, precise breath control, and sheer conviction.
