Smiselo drops Akulula Ungikholwe, an EP steeped in South African musical storytelling and emotive lyrical delivery. The title, which can be interpreted in isiZulu as “It’s not easy to believe me” speaks to a theme of trust, understanding, and the problems that can be faced when people strive to understand each other’s experiences.
In Akulula Ungikholwe, Smiselo uses music to highlight personal experiences and the reality of everyday existence. The title of the project reflects themes of honesty, relationships, and the battle to be understood, giving the EP a meaningful direction while allowing listeners to connect with the emotions and messages in the songs.
Smiselo adds another project to the artist’s musical catalog with Akulula Ungikholwe. The EP lets listeners get lost in Smiselo’s sound and lyrical language as he confronts subjects that reflect the difficult nature of trust, communication, and life events.
