Ugandan singer-songwriter Joshua Baraka links up with Nigerian Afrobeats artist Tiwa Savage on “Commando,” a sleek Afro-fusion hit that dropped on October 29, 2026. The collaboration unites Kampala and Lagos with two musicians delivering different vocal styles over a polished and lively single.

Self-produced by Joshua Baraka, “Commando” marries atmospheric percussion with his emotive delivery and Tiwa Savage’s characteristic melodies. They perform in a way that makes the tune feel chilled out but alive, and that creates this cross-border cooperation that combines their own musical identities.

The tune was teased when a preview leaked online earlier this October. The clip began to get more and more interest, and so Baraka decided to bring up the release date so that fans could hear the whole tune before the intended date.

“Commando” is also the second official single from Joshua Baraka’s next seven-track EP, Recess II, due November 12, 2026. The track, released under exclusive license to Moves Recordings, teases the impending project, and adds another major collaboration to Baraka’s burgeoning discography.

Joshua Baraka joins forces with Tiwa Savage for a convergence of Ugandan and Nigerian sounds, bringing the two singers together on one unique single.
