South African singer Dzo 729 serves up a gripping tune with Rekere 2, positioned as track 11 on the expansive 20-song CD, My Music. This release is slated for 2026 and is a conscious project-first approach, focusing on the connection and flow of the complete body of music rather than individual standalone singles.
The fact that “Rekere 2” is placed where it is in the album shows that it is important to the story or themes of My Music. With the project consisting of a whopping 20 tracks, every single contribution, including this one, is necessary in creating a whole listening experience from start to finish.
Dzo 729’s consideration of the overall project enables the listener to take My Music as a whole, allowing the links between pieces like Rekere 2 to contribute to the wider creative narrative. The 2026 release is a handpicked compilation that continues the examination of South African arts.
