AkiidMusiq, the South African electronic producer and regional dancefloor builder, is taking over the scene with Pointer, the vast, rhythm-heavy studio album.
This 13-track body of work comes at a time when electronic dance aficionados and underground club heads seek raw, high-octane club anthems that link gritty Gqom textures with unrelenting electronic drive. AkiidMusiq takes the opportunity to show off his technical abilities, taking the listener on a hard-hitting sonic trip through highlights such as “Bubble Boi,” “Noizer,” “Generator,” and “Air Man 2.0.”
The sonic architecture depends on pounding kick drums, snapping snares, and underground rolling sub-bass lines. Underneath these beats are dark atmospheric synth pads and repeating percussive loops that retain the dancefloor bounce but with plenty of headroom left in the mix.
With seasoned arrangement skills and careful tempo constraints, AkiidMusiq handles the extended compilation.
The concept is about the adrenaline of a late-night rave, club escapism, and rhythmic freedom. Stream Pointer on all digital music platforms today!
