Highlife legend Akwaboah enlists the services of versatile Tema rapper and vocalist Kwesi Arthur on an emotive romance record titled “Odo Ankasa.”
The poignant collaboration comes at a time when current highlife purists and Afro-fusion enthusiasts are craving real, melody-rich anthems that explore true love, trust, and lasting relationships. Akwaboah, known for his lush calligraphies and velvety vocal mastery in the African music industry, collaborates with Kwesi Arthur to produce a deep collaboration celebrating unconditional adoration.
The sound architect creates a pleasant mid-tempo environment, built around delicate guitar licks, lovely keyboard melodies, and snappy percussion shakers. A steady drum kick plays nicely over a fluid rolling bass line, keeping the groove swinging easy without crowding the singers.
Akwaboah rules with precise, seasoned pitch and sensitive phrasing, while Kwesi Arthur picks up the energy with his distinctive laid-back flow and raw cadences.
