Musical collective Coconut Rootz comes to the fore with an uplifting, melody-rich island fusion record, What Makes Us Shine.
The release is hotly anticipated at a time when fans of alternative music and acoustic sounds are looking for uplifting, feel-good anthems about inner confidence, personal brilliance, and authenticity. Coconut Rootz creates an uplifting audio arena to honor the uniqueness of the individual and collective resilience, urging us all to enjoy our own special inner light and to overcome the doubts of everyday life.
The sound architect builds a pleasant mid-tempo landscape with delicate strums of acoustic guitar, snappy percussion shakers, and a flowing rolling bassline. The groove has a relaxed bounce, with gentle, ambient keyboard progressions that run nicely below without overwhelming the arrangement.
The voices follow the melody with natural warmth, tight control of pitch, and a reassuring authenticity. The songwriting is very much centered about self-discovery, real self-worth, and distributing great energy to everyone around.
