On “Ndalira,” a deep Afro-R&B song, alawian music artist Kell Kay takes a more reflective approach, examining love, pain and the process of dealing with heartbreak.
Released via ONErpm as his second major release of the year, the song is a far cry from “Wale,” his peppy hit from earlier on in 2026. Produced by BFB with mixing and mastering by Tricky Beats, the single is given a clear, uncomplicated basis for Kell Kay’s vocals to sit over.
That passionate delivery has been one of the defining qualities of Kell Kay since he won Nyasa Music Awards for Best R&B Artist back in 2017 and 2018. Here his wording is quiet and personal rather than dramatic, making his point without the need for the support of a complex arrangement. The title itself harks back to his 2022 hit “Mayo Mayo,” which utilized the words “Ndalila ntima mwanga” to explore similar sorrow themes.
The official video is being released early due to fan demand, and has already garnered hundreds of thousands of views.
