Multi-talented South African musician and artist Orchid Musiq unleashes this fantastic banger titled Hambe (Endleleni)
Hambe is more or less go and Endleleni points to the road itself. And it’s fitting, then, that the beat reads as momentum, a constant bassline flowing forward, a log drum keeping time without ever hurrying.
No vocals-heavy material here either. It’s primarily instrumental, with texture rather than words expressing the story. From time to time there are chants wafting in, more mood than words.
It’s a unique feel too, one producer, one idea, no multitude of voices pushing it in different directions. Just a road, with something traveling steadily along it.
When it’s time to move without a destination in mind, play “Hambe (Endleleni)”.
