Jos-based Nigerian singer SHON offers a fresh collaboration with Abefe to expand the record, giving a second life to a song released in July, with “Lekki Epe (Olombe) II”.
Instead of deviating from the original “Lekki Epe (Olombe)”, the release revisits it with Abefe joining SHON on the new version, bringing another vocal presence to the classic record.
The second edition retains the familiar base of the original, but makes use of the collaboration to freshen its presentation. “Having another voice in the arrangement gives the song a different dynamic, without losing the identity that introduced it to the listeners.
SHON’s timing also ties him to one of Nigeria’s breakout musicians of 2026, following Abefe’s surge on the back of viral covers and his debut project. That extra audience gives the record a new chance to carry the traction the original version had previously made.
