The South African artist uMzingeli released the single “40 Years” in 2026 as part of the Kuyophela siyofana project. The song closes the entire voyage that is featured in Kuyophela siyofana, a project that contains a total of eight tracks.
The last track, Isandla somuntu, is the natural conclusion to the album’s thematic path. The track is an appropriate end to the body of work, and the South African artist’s project-first approach works well, highlighting unity with the rest of the collection.
As part of Kuyophela siyofana, the song is indicative of the meticulous structuring and flow that typifies the whole release. The strategic placement of Isandla somuntu shows the importance of each track’s contribution to the larger narrative that UMzingeli offers.
