Tanzanian artist Xouh has continued to develop her collection across the East African pop industry, and the latest release for 2026 is “Mama Mkwe,” which is powered by Swahili relationship humor.

The song’s title means “mother-in-law,” and it plays with relationship and familial dynamics, rather than taking a traditional love-song approach to romance. It follows Tayari, a collaboration with Barnaba Classic published in September.

Musically, “Mama Mkwe” is rooted in the Bongo Flava genre and features Xouh’s Swahili vocals with an infectious rhythm and a melody that sets the tone for the song’s lightheartedness.

The track also keeps on Xouh’s active 2026 run that has seen “Nazidiwa,” “Memkwa School” and “Tayari” released, keeping Xouh visible as her audience continues to grow outside of Tanzania.

The song is now accessible on all major digital streaming platforms. Please listen and share your thoughts in the comments below.
