DJ Maphorisa, DJ Tunez, and Wizkid wrap up their South Gidi EP with “Fiesta” and enlist Zaba & Zeh McGeba for the closing party.

The record dropped October 23, 2025, as the third and final song off the three-song project linking Lagos and Johannesburg.

Here, it is the placement that matters. “Fiesta,” as the closer, needs to send the EP out with vigor and not let it fizzle out. Production emphasizes bright percussion layers and call-and-response chants, so the record feels made for movement from the first bar. Wizkid glides over the beat with that laid-back delivery he does so well, while Zaba and Zeh McGeba jump in to provide South African texture and urgency to the verses. You can hear DJ Tunez’s touch in the transitions and voice processing, which lends a modern sheen to the track without taking away from the Amapiano core underneath.

The South Gidi idea itself came from studio sessions in London in September 2025, where clips of the trio working together appeared online and got fans excited. The EP title says it all, with “South” referencing Maphorisa’s roots and “Gidi” standing for Wizkid’s Lagos. So “Fiesta” is imbued with that cross-continental ambition from beginning to end. It doesn’t strive to be the deepest record on the project. Instead, it’s a meaningful farewell, commemorating the togetherness the EP was founded around.

Listen to “Fiesta” and see whether the joyous atmosphere lands for you. Please let us know in the comments if this closer finishes off the South Gidi EP in the appropriate way.
