Tanzanian recording artist Platform Tz explores the fast paced Singeli sound with a collaborative single titled “Tilalila” featuring Dogo Paten, Ibra Malume and Good Master. Release date: 15 October 2026.
“Tilalila” is fast instrumentation and high-energy Singeli production, with arrangements by Goodmaster fueling the song’s high-spirited street-music feel. The collaboration brings together four artists on a record based in the peculiar sound of Tanzania’s Singeli scene.
“Tilalila” is fast-paced, but it deals with the tragic aspect of romantic relationships. It follows someone who is worn down by grief and terrible experiences with love and who ends up drinking heavily in the local pubs as a way of coping with the misery. The main narrative of the record is this counterpoint between the lively production and the theme of the song.
The single also features on Platform Tz’s three-track EP, Hatua 3, which is distributed digitally by Africori. It offers another aspect to the artist’s discography and demonstrates his transition toward a faster, more aggressive musical genre.
