After the praise-filled “Unreserved Praise 4,” Badan-based gospel singer and evangelist Toluwanisings is back with a spiritually urgent new record titled “A Perilous Time.”
The title is taken straight from 2 Timothy 3:1—”Know “this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” But Toluwanisings does not present that passage as a theological discourse. She sanctifies it, making it a worship experience, using the weight of the prophecy as an excuse to get closer to God and not farther away. So urgency without dread is what the record has, and it’s the sort of balance that differentiates excellent gospel writing from disturbing substance wrapped up in the language of faith.
With 444,000 followers on Audiomack, hers is hardly a minor voice in ministry. Toluwanisings has been cultivating a loyal following over years of prolific gospel content – from “E LAGBARA” with Apekeola to “Motun Ti De” to “OWO RE MEJI MEJI”. Each release adds additional depth to a worship library her listeners keep returning to over and again. So “A Perilous Time” comes to an audience fully prepared for her voice and message.
The record is distinguished apart other gospel records with comparable themes by its soul-stirring vocal delivery. Because anyone can write about hard times. It’s not just about hearing what she is singing, it’s all about the minister that really believes it to make you experience it.
