On the pop track “Housewife,” released October 15, 2026, via RCA Records, Tate McRae challenges conventional relationship stereotypes.
The Canadian singer is starting a bold new chapter in her music with a song that places female independence, financial freedom and personal ambition at the center of its message.
The lead song from her forthcoming fourth studio album, “Housewife,” is McRae’s first new release since the deluxe edition of So Close To What debuted in late 2025.
“I love the idea of being my own boss, making my own money, and doing it my own way without needing a partner to do it,” McRae said, but yet keeping romance on her own terms.
The song was co-written by McRae, Julia Michaels, Ryan Tedder, Jasper Harris, Pablo Díaz-Reixa (aka El Guincho) and Grant Boutin.
Tate McRae’s “Housewife” twists traditional relationship norms, making a message about independence and ambition. The tune is the first hint fans are getting of where her new album is headed.
