Nigerian highlife and Afropop musician Fanzy Papaya joins forces with indigenous highlife duo Ejima042 for “Erenpe,” a new single released in October 2026.
The partnership unites artists with deep ties to Igbo music and to the highlife heritage of southeastern Nigeria. Fanzy Papaya is the lead vocalist, and Ejima042 adds its particular individuality as a duet recognized for indigenous highlife.
Musically, the release is in the highlife tradition that has remained fundamental to both acts’ work. The mix of Fanzy Papaya’s Afropop background and Ejima042’s highlife experience provides the collaboration with a high sense of style, especially for listeners who are aware of present-day Igbo music.
Fanzy Papaya has continued to build his library with solo records and collaborations, having previously worked with top Nigerian musicians. Ejima042’s presence in the highlife scene and his built-in audience should help the new release be noticed by people who enjoy indigenous Nigerian music.
